Amandla Stenberg is an American actress of mixed African-American and Danish descent who portrayed Rue in The Hunger Games film.[1] "Amandla" means "power" in Zulu, and "Stenberg" is Danish for "stone mountain."
Career[]
She made her feature film debut in 2011 in Colombiana as young Cataleya. Amandla has been featured in dozens of commercials since the age of 4. They also did some modeling for Disney. She also appeared in the TV series Sleepy Hollow.
They began playing the violin in 2013 and singing at Los Angeles venues along with singer/songwriter Zander Hawley. The duo released their first EP in August 2015.
In 2018, Amandla was auditioned the role of Shuri in the Marvel film Black Panther. However, she turned down the role because of her skin color.
