Forums: Index > The Arena > Deadmining: PumPumPumpkin :3, needing new administration

Lets be honest, this wiki is mostly dead save for a few fanon games. I partly think it's because of the inactivity of the majority of the admins on the wiki. We need people posting and editing everyday, and it's honestly not happening right now, and making an edit every two to three weeks like most of them are doing isn't going to work.

I am proposing that as a community, or whatever is left of it, demote the following bcrats and admins, and replace them with better more qualified and active users that use the wiki every day.

-PumPumPumpkin

-TheFireJay

-66mc

-The Boy with the Pikachu Tattoo

I'm posting this on a different account to avoid fighting and drama. If this gains enough support, we can send this to wikia and have them demoted for the greater good of the community. Don't let them continue this lack of care for the wiki. Don't let them have rights that they hardly use and don't just say "no" because you personally know them and or are buddy buddy with them.

WE need an active staff, daily, that watches over the wiki and can hopefully revive it to its former active glory.

EDIT: Let me also add that if either Pumpkin or Firejay are willing to step forward, admit their lack of editing and concern for the wiki, AS WELL as contacting wiki themselves and having their rights stripped, then we can forget the whole voting process.

EDIT2: Also adding 66mc and TBWTPT. They haven't even made an edit in months it looks like. I didn't even know they were still admins. Same counts for them if they would like to set up and ask for their rights to be removed.

In My Defense TheFireJay[]

I don't know how to formally defend myself so I'm just going go with a flow and hopefully it covers everything. Yea, I do know the wiki is dying due to the movie series ending recently and there is no reason for someone to come on besides read the articles as discussion over the series don't happen anymore because there is nothing to discuss. Going off that, I check the wiki every single day, multiple times to make sure no bad edits occur. Ya, it doesn't show often but I make sure everything that shouldn't be is rollbacked or deleted. Also blame my lack of laptop (I been without it for a month) access to why I'm not revising or checking over pages to make sure there on the best shape but once I have a laptop again I'll begin doing so. Most of the staff is inactive and I know that but like what I'm I suppose to do just like demote them ok? But the chat and wiki won't revive itself. If you have any ideas go for and ask me on my wall. The Staff added feature they added to the community with the mobile app discussion. Where the recently brought so we can see it publicly on web. I believe they brought trafficking to the main wiki itself but it didn't bring editors so I don't see what we can do at this point. I'm speaking on my behalf if you want to know the other staff opinion go ahead and message them on there message wall so they know this forum exist at least.

I know Erlend is active under Yoonie, so we could remove the PumPum acc and remake the rights out to Yoonie, but everyone else deserves the loss, as they're inactive. "An old man died.." "BUT LOOK, A COMPUTER!" (talk) 00:36, January 28, 2016 (UTC)

Well, if that is the case, and if he is active under that account, then certainly. As long as he pays the wiki attention I don't see a problem with it. Velvet Velociraptors (talk) 21:28, January 28, 2016 (UTC)

They've been far too inactive for to me to say that they should remain in their positions, but I'm not going to pin the wiki's inactivity on them. Not when the series has pretty much ended for now. Also, I don't see the need for you to hide behind an alternate account. LightStone123 (talk) 01:04, January 28, 2016 (UTC)

Especially for 66mc and TBWTPT, they haven't been on since the stone age. As forementioned, Erlend goes by Yoonie, so perhaps keep Erlend as admin, but under the Yoonie account. I think it'll be good to have fresh staff. And as a suggestion, we should also look over chat mods too, and remove rights from the inactive users there as well.

The wiki as a whole is pretty inactive and I agree to Justin's defense. However, I also agree with Uktar, as we need NEW active admins who are willing to come to user's aids or any problems. The wiki is getting inactive, but they're many new people coming by every week.

I honestly agree with Justin as to what he said. None of our staff is active (myself included) and I've only recently had the time to come and check up on what's going on. In all actuality, the only problem I'm finding here is that there aren't current members of the community with rollback powers. The use of new admins or chat moderators seems pointless to myself. Yes, I do agree that we should change the rights from PumPumPumpkin :3 to Yoonie for Erlend, but every other staff member just seems out of the world and, frankly, unrealistic to myself.

The addition of chat moderators won't do good since chat has shifted to the RP wiki. As for new admins, there aren't enough editors on the wiki that make edits to the pages to warrant the creation of 4 new admins when we, frankly, have two active admins that are active (whether it's evident or not remains up for grabs) and a bureaucrat who stops by every few weeks to check on the wiki (as far as I know). As for 66mc and TBWTPT, they're about as useful as the chat moderators. They're not around to do their job and are, frankly, around just for looks unfortunately.

The more admins and chat moderators that a wiki has, the better it seems rule-wise and that it has a system and a person that can cover every time zone in case of a troll at any given moment. I would suggest, rather, that we give some active people on this wiki the power to rollback trolls in the worst case scenario. Everyone needs their Rainie <3 04:15, January 29, 2016 (UTC)

tru. im not opposing bc erlend is my friend, he is but thats not why im opposing. he's a gr8 admin and he's been active since the beginning of january. gg liz. took the words out of my mouth.

So I investigated a little and, to add to my argument, 66mc (Mia) actually made edits on January 9, so the only one I could potentially see lose their rights in TBWTPT. And, in reality, if you deadmin TBWTPT, you're going to have to deadmin Star* and Abernathy and so many other people that it will just get so hectic and chaotic that it's not worth it. Utkar22's Suggestion[]

How about we do not deadmin the inactive users, because they have made past contributions, but add more mods and admins to the wiki? Utkar22 10:04, March 15, 2016 (UTC)
