"When she volunteered to take Prim's place at the reaping. Because I'm sure she thought she was going to die."
—Leevy mentioning a moment where Katniss had moved her.[src]

Leevy was a girl from District 12 who lived a few houses down from Katniss Everdeen's house in the Seam.[1] Leevy was also among the survivors of the bombing of District 12.[2]

Biography[]

A year before Catching Fire took place, Leevy's brother caught the measles, and Mrs. Everdeen kept him alive.[1]

When Gale Hawthorne was whipped by Romulus Thread, Leevy took Katniss's arm and asked her if she needed help. Katniss asked her to fetch Gale's mother, Hazelle Hawthorne, and not to let Hazelle bring Gale's siblings. Leevy replied that she would watch the children herself.[1]

Leevy survived the bombing of District 12 and was evacuated to District 13, where she was given automatic citizenship alongside every other refugee.[3] It is unknown whether or not she had any family who survived the bombing, since her little brother was not mentioned in Mockingjay.

Leevy cautiously greeted Katniss's prep team when they joined a group from the Seam for lunch in the dining hall.[2] She was also present for a meeting in Command, where Haymitch Abernathy asked a group of people to tell him times when Katniss had moved them emotionally. Leevy mentioned how Katniss had volunteered to take Prim's place at the reaping for the 74th Hunger Games, despite facing near certain death.[4]

Physical description[]

Leevy is described as having gray eyes, typical of people from the Seam.[1]
