Ripper was a one-armed woman who sold white liquor at The Hob. She lost her arm in a mine accident, but was able to think of a way to escape and survived. Haymitch Abernathy, District 12's second victor, purchased most of his liquor from her, as did Cray, one of District 12's Head Peacekeeper. In Catching Fire, Peeta Mellark forbade Ripper to sell alcohol to Haymitch and Katniss Everdeen after the two of them get drunk when they learn that they will have to go back into the Hunger Games due to the requirements of the 3rd Quarter Quell. She is presumed to have died when the Capitol dropped the firebombs on District 12 as she is not mentioned to be among the group of citizens who escaped to District 13.
