Rory Hawthorne is the second-oldest child in the Hawthorne family and the brother of Gale, Vick, and Posy.

BiographyEdit

He lives in the Seam with his family of five. He is said to be around the same age as Katniss' sister Primrose.

WorkEdit

Rory is too young to work, and hasn't learned the art of hunting yet. During the food shortage when Gale and Hazelle were unable to work, he took out tesserae, much to Gale's displeasure, to help support the family. It is also said in Catching Fire that Katniss would try to teach him how to hunt.

Physical descriptionEdit

Rory has the olive skin tone, gray eyes, and dark hair, like many other typical of residents of the Seam.

FamilyEdit

Rory has three siblings, Vick Hawthorne, Gale Hawthorne and his only sister, Posy Hawthorne. His father died in a mine explosion, just like Katniss Everdeen's, 5 years prior to the start of the Hunger Games. During the 74th Hunger Games, the Hawthornes are referred to as cousins of the Everdeens in order to invalidate a relationship between Gale Hawthorne and Katniss Everdeen.

Rory's mother, Hazelle Hawthorne, raised her children by herself since her husband's death when Rory was six or seven.

Katniss planned on teaching him how to hunt since Gale was too busy to do so.
