Squad 451, or simply "451", was a special unit of rebel sharpshooters. Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, Gale Hawthorne, and Finnick Odair were all members of this squad.
The squad was trained in District 13 and were sent on a mission to the Capitol, getting drawn into the Battle of the Capitol. They were also referred to as the "Star Squad" because they were the on-screen faces of the rebel invasion. The squad was accompanied by a TV crew (Cressida, Messalla, Castor, and Pollux) so that they could continue to make propos for the Airtime Assault. The squad and its TV crew were decimated during the battle and only a handful lived to see the rebellion's victory.

Trivia
- The number 451 could be a reference to the dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451, which is about rebellion against a tyrannic president. The protagonist, Guy Montag, is a fireman whose job is to burn forbidden books. 451 degrees Fahrenheit is also the temperature at which books or paper burn.
