This is the page where you can make formal requests to be a chat moderator. A chat moderator is a user who has the ability to kickban users who are break our chat policy on chat.

Requirements Edit

There are no concrete requirements for chat mods. However, these users will usually:

• Be a regular, positive participant in chat
• Be trusted by the community
• Have no history of serious blocks or chat bans
• Have been here over a month

Procedure Edit

Step 1: Nominating Edit

1. When nominations are being accepted, users may nominate themselves or be nominated by others (in either case, you must give valid reasoning).
2. If nominated by another person, the user in question must then accept. Nominations will be open for at least 3 days. Please don't support users just because you get along with them. Support them if you think giving them access will help the site.

Step 2: ChoosingEdit

1. Admins will decide who has been chosen as a mod.

I am nominating Oli because I feel that he is the best choice considering the times that we need mods. During most of the day we have at least one person to cover chat, but not in the mornings for the UK. There are often 3 hours when there are no mods and it's only a few people on, but judging by the times I have been on then, it's when we get a few trolls. Oli is always on whenever I arrive though at that time, he definitely knows the rules as well as any other mod and I know he will take it seriously and not abuse his role. He has been banned before, but I definitely feel that he has matured since then and most of them were of his request or didn't concern this wiki. It also shows that he knows when people need banning and he can use his experiences to help him as a mod.

Oli has always been nice to the users here, old and new and he is friendly to everyone and will help wherever he can. He's been a great friend to me and welcomed me to the wiki, proving he can be good for helping new users. He can have a laugh with everyone and is never too strict to put people off, but he will always make sure they will stick to the rules. When I am away on chat, I can also rely on him to ping me and let me know if someone is misbehaving. These are the reasons why I think Oli should be chat mod. :3

I think Caylin should become a chat moderator because she has been here for a long time, so she knows the rules very well. She is usually well behaved on chat and helps answer questions when asked. I feel like she is very responsible and completely deserves this. Caylin is also on chat EVERY day and for a long time each day, on most nights for Americans, I am usually the only mod on with sometimes up to 14 other users on, and she is always there with me. During the long time she's been here, she has made tons of friends and she is well-liked and trusted. She enforces the rules well and I can easily say she is one of my top choices to who should become mod. Thank you for your time, and I hope you consider her as she deserves this position and would not abuse her powers.

Hybrid ShadowEdit

I am nominating Kekai for chat moderator rights because I think he will be a great mod. He is on chat every day, even in the middle of the week, often in the early mornings when few users are on. His time zone (Hawaii) makes it ideal for him to keep on chat when no mods are available. Kekai also knows the rules very well and I think he will be great at keeping trolls and other users misbehaving in check. He has been here since 4th of December of 2012 so he has good experience with how chat works and to behaive properly. He is also well-known, and well-liked on chat. He is calm and easy-going to everyone, he never loses his cool and he listens to people before he jumps to accoutions. He is extremely kind and he apologizes if he does anything wrong. Kekai has a very fun and nice personality overall, and he is never impolite to anyone, no matter how much they annoy him he never loses his calm. He argues his case out without shouting or making personal attacks towards others too. He can make anyone feel comfortable and he is always welcome to new users. He has also never been banned from chat, ever, which shows that Kekai is a prime choice for chat moderator. These and many more are the reasons that I, and so many other users on the wiki, think Kekai should be chat moderator.

I am nominating Wes, as I feel of the users in chat (except the mods and a few already mentioned on this page) I can trust him the most. He knows all the rules, and has been a member for almost a year now. He is loyal to the wiki, and is very active, and friendly. Knowing most users, and getting along great with them. He has never gotten in any serious fights. He has had no bans (the only one he has had was a test to show the new ban template thing) and always helps when mods are not on. Not only this but he also helps on the wiki, and has helped edit mainspace which I know not a lot of chat users do, so I feel he is someone who would be able to represent the wiki in a positive manner, as he has been a rollback for quite a while now. He is very mature as I have said before, but knows when to relax and bit, and I just think he is a very solid candidate, and already has all the qualities that a great mod has. I would like to nominate myself as a chat moderator. I am not meaning to be at all arrogant, self-obsessed, or overconfident, but I do believe I have stepped my game up enough to earn the chat moderator status. I am consistently on chat now, since my school year just ended. I also am confident that I can use my rights as chat moderator correctly and responsibly. I have been a member for over a year (since last April) and I have stepped up my game miraculously in that time. I believe that I can carry these rights and advantages in a responsible matter. Once again, I do not mean to sound at all conceited or vapid if that is what this inflicts on one, but I do believe that I have stepped my game up enough to earn the privilege of being a chat moderator.

Kman, that was quite a while ago. If you read my nomination, you would have seen I said "I have stepped up my game since then" And you don't even like me that much, so why bother opposing? I do not mean to sound rude or abrupt but I do know that you highly dislike me, and that that is probably the main reason you opposed. And Midget In a Bikini, I just started to become more active because I had a very busy school year. Before the school year became so busy, I was extremely active. I was not able to come online as I was having issues with the school district. Now that those issues have been put to rest, I have been and will continue to be much more active.

I'm sorry Andy but I oppose too. Your bans from chat were pretty serious, maybe not long in dates but for the causes, they are to be taken as "serious". Okay, okay, serious now. I am nominating myself because I have for one been on the wiki for over a year now, and think I understand the principles and rules of chat. I am not the MOST AWESOMELY ACTIVE chick on chat, but I have always wanted to further in my help for the wiki. And, once more, I know my edit count is low. But on my old account I had 1,810 edits, and add these, that is 2000+, (can't be bothered with math right now.) But edits has nothing to do with chat, just thought I would add that in there to suck up a bit. Ya know, add a little sugar there. But anyways, if you read this, I would be priviledged to become a new chat moderator. (DID YOU SEE THAT? I actually said moderator instead of mod.)
