Thresh's grandmother is a District 11 citizen. She has two grandchildren, Thresh and his sister. She most likely raised them.

She is said to be alive by the time of the 75th Hunger Games, though after that her fate is not determined. She seemed proud of Katniss for speaking up when she visited District 11 in the Victory Tour, and it seemed to help her slightly with the loss of Thresh.
