Backstory: Octavia Gloss has her mom and dad to look up to but, her older brother (Libly Gloss) who she was very close to died at age 17 in the Hunger Games when she was only 12. Octavia, depressed, is left with her younger brother Ranty Gloss who was 7. Octavia is now 16 and living with Ranty (now 11 years old) with her mom and dad.

Backstory: At age 12 Lumanox parents both died after being whipped to death by a peacekeeper because they were accused for a crime that they did not commit. Lomanox's aunt always hated her sister (Lomanox's mom). So when his aunt commited a crime of stealing, she blamed it on her sister and her husband (Lomanox'es mom and dad). After accusing them they got whipped to death and were forgotten about. But not by Lomanox because he knew the truth and was not going to let his aunt get away with it. So when Lomanox was forced to live with his uncle, he quickly told him that his aunt was the one who really commited the crime. His uncle told a near by peacekeeper and Lomanox's aunt was decapatated. Now that his aunt was dead, Lomanox could finally sleep at night. But he will never forgett what was done to his parents. Now Lomanox is 18 and living with his uncles friend after his uncle died of frost bite during winter. Since Lomanox has lost so many people he was close to, he has never been able to trust anyone or get emotionaly attched to anything except for his girlfriend Octavia Gloss.
