OKAY PEOPLE, let me get this outta my system. I know I'm not really one to talk, but we really need to do something about this picking staff situation. I know we might be over it now, but still, I want to bring something to life here.

CHAT MODS

  • should be here for at least 6 months. No, don't complain; I think this is a good rule. It'll give users time to adjust and mature on the site.
  • No warnings for chatroom policy violations in the previous three months.

{C}That would include abuse of others and COPPA violations. For those of you who don't know what COPPA is, it's like some organization thingy that says you need to be 13 or older or something.

And since we're bringing chat back, let me say a few things. You all need to

A) Assume good faith. Technically, we all assume good faith when we agree to be logged in, because we are saying we're older than 13 (which by the way is assuming good faith)

B) Stop all personal attacks; they're unneeded and immature

C) have staff step up a little more in ensuring that new users know the ropes

D) Chat mods and otherwise; beginning a reporting center where a problem can be decided whether it deserves punishment by the other staff

E) Chat mods and otherwise; starting blocks for COPPA violations. COPPA's there for a reason, and if we wanted to violate it, we'd need to, like, do a lot of stuff with COPPA to be able to do that. So if you're 13 or younger, I don't think you should be allowed on the site.

F) Closing the spot for admin; truth be told, we don't need more than 3 great admins. Admins for long are users that have proved themselves time after time after time and are really deservant of the position (not like me) and I really don't see anyone who deserves it right now. Also,

G) we should open up an RfCM, (Request for Chat Mod) and other STAFF MEMBERS ONLY can vote for the user (if you vote against, just don't comment) this will be good for anyone who wants to apply, and

H) we should only take 6 chat mods right now. 6 chat mods, 5 rollbacks, and 3 admins, and this wiki is gonna be pretty well run. We'll tell y'all when more chat mod spots open up.

I) advertise the policies at the top of the chat window in the chat room. That way, you can just direct new users to it

J) Chat mods should not get their titles taken away just because chat is banned for now {C}And oyus, I know all this staff buisness means me Oi, I have to work now =_= thanks, Oblivion. Real genius. Can't imagine who she is >.> and I will work hard at it (also ignore the previous sentence, that was the dark side of me) and I will encourage others to do it as well. Goodnight and I'm crashing now

K) Have five (5) rollbacks on this wiki. Personally, I think the rollbacks should have been a staff in the past, like a chat moderator (we're not deploying admins :P), people with experience. So, any chat moderators that want to become rollbacks, leave the same thing like an RfCM, but title it RfR

And, to keep track of the staff, a chart telling you where there are openings in positions where you can RfCM or RfR. Like the one on the chat page, only like this, but obviously not typed by my hands.

Rollbacks should also have to be here for AT LEAST 6 months for their nomination to pass. If they are not, the nomination will be declined instantly.

here's what I think should happen. Chat moderators enforce the chatroom policy and ensure that the chat runs as it was intended. These people are carefully selected for their posts.

Something like this:
=== Nomination for [[User:USERNAME|USERNAME]] ===

:'''Date''': DD MONTH YEAR

TEXT

Also, leave a small speech thing about why you want to be a mod.

should be requested on the talk page, only replacing username with your name, and all that stuff. Admins and other staff (including other mods) will be able to vote on the membership nomination if they feel the user is worthy. If not, leave it alone! They don't have to be voted on! A nomination that runs the course of 10 days without vote will be considered unsucessful.

I gotta go to bed now any chance I might be getting my chat moderator thingy back anytime soon? Sorry, just wondering o.o Bye! Feel free to improvise this I'll update tomorrow! Byeee!     Oblivie             talk at me here              02:39, June 3, 2012 (UTC)
