Pfft, I was talking to THGG on our talks and then she mentioned she was writing a fanfiction, and then I remembered an old fanfiction I was planning on writing and never got around to it. Well, I have now, so, enjoy! =D
I am President Alma Coin. I was president of District 13. I made an uprising against the Capitol so I could become president there sooner. I hate Katniss Everdeen, she is the opsticle in my way...
I did some therapy that Katniss' doctor made her do to keep her mind clear. I smiled around the room. "Then it's decided," I said, my smile turning into one that is devious. I walked out of the room after Peeta kicked the table.
I walked down the hall of my mansion. I just love saying mine instead of President Snow's. I walk into my room, it still smells of blood and roses. I hiss a little and slink over to the control pad and typed into it "Airfresheners" and clicked on a random one. I took a breathe in and smiled with relief. The smell was gone.
I laid down on the bed. Tomorrow, Katniss will kill Snow, just like she wanted. And then, I'll be dominant ruler of the Capitol, of all the Districts. I'll send the Capitols' little brats into the arena to fight to the death, just like they did to us, it's only fair. I slowly drifted to sleep...
I woke up the next day and headed to get dressed. I got dressed in a fine outfit. I walked towards the garden room where I knew Snow was. I walked in and walked over to him. I was holding a container and he looked at me. "What do you want?" he asked, narrowing his eyes.
"To give you this," I said, handing him the container.
He opened it and smiled. "What do you expect me to do with this?"
"Drink it, just in case," I said.
He smirked. I got him up and removed the chains from his handcuffs except the one connecting them. He drank it and I took him outside. The peacekeepers pulled out new chains and attacked them to the pole. I walked inside and waited inside, outside would be my balcony.
A voice started talking and then I heard my name and walked out. The crowd cheered and I smiled. I looked at Katniss. I gave her a look that told her to "kill him, now!"
Katniss pulled her arrow back but hesitated. Then the arrow was flying in my direction. I felt it pierce my throat and I started to go back and forth and fell off the balcony and to the ground. Then it went dark, everything.
Chapter 1 - A Story
I ran down the halls of District 13. Some people would try to calm me but no, nothing would work. My mother would call for me soon. I got to my floor and started to run around a bit until I heard my mother call. "Alma?"
"Coming!" I said and ran towards our apartment. She let me in and walked over to get me ready for bed. She gave me a quick washing and put me in my night gown and out of my everyday clothes. I smiled and walked over to my bed. "What story will you tell me tonight?" I asked, eager to hear tonight's story.
"It's about a day, when I was your age, 6 to be exact," she said with a smile. "In District 13, we create nuclear weapons, correct?" she asked. I nodded and she continued. "Well, as a girl, we were planning to bomb the Capitol, but they were going to bomb us to. Now, keep in mind this is the uprising. We then came to an agreement that if we did not blow up the Capitol, the Capitol would leave us alone. We hid in our underground tunnels, where we live now. The bombed to top of our District, destroying it. And I promise, I will be the one to show you sweetie, I will show you the ruins of District 13, someday," she said with a smile.
I smiled also. She brushed the hair out of my face. "Good night, Alma," she said.
"Goodnight mommy," I said. She smiled again and then went to get ready for bed. As soon as she settled down, the lights went out. I sighed and rested my head on my pillow. All I could think of was how evil the Capitol was. I would get my revenge.
And revenge I shall get...
Chapter 2 - Something Unwanted
I was crying into my hands. Mother was sick, she was in the hospital wing, and I was crying, next to her bed. She lifted my head so I could look her in the eyes. She smiled weakly and brushed the hair out of my face. "I'm sorry, Alma, but it's my time."
"No!" I said and started to cry again. "Y-You never g-got to show m-me the Di-District 1-13 ruins!"
"I'm sorry sweetie, but I'm not the one to do that," she murmured. I hugged her and then the doctor came in and sighed.
"We can't save her," he said, looking at my mother. I started crying again and the doctor lead me away, so I wouldn't see her die. He took me back to my room and walked away, leaving me, sitting in the dark, all by myself.
I started thinking about the night of the story, 3 years ago.... But I will always remember this memory, and this made me angry.
Why, I don't know, but I was angry. Maybe it was at the Capitol for making us move down here, maybe it was anger at myself for being so careless and running around like an idiot. Whatever it was, I was angry, and I wanted revenge for it...
I fell asleep on my pillow, under my covers, and the last thing I saw was my mother's bed, empty...
I woke up the next day and headed to the mess hall. I got my food and sat down with my friends. I would have school later. My friends were talking happily and I just sat there, eating. They didn't notice me, though, they were to into their own conversation the care.
I finished and we walked to class. I sat down in class and the teacher started to take roll. "Andrea Bells?"
"Here," I said glumly. I didn't understand why they couldn't just let me take a few days off from school, I mean, my mother did die last night.
Finally, she got onto the lesson, but I didn't pay much attention. Soon, school, lunch, school, and then dinner was done. I hurried home so I could fall asleep. I did, sleep was so much peaceful, so peaceful...
Chapter 3 - Higher years
I walk out with Nick. His arm is around mine and I am smiling bright. All the other girls that like Nick steer clear of us. I rest my head on his shoulder and his arm sorta slips down to my waste. I don't move his hand though, after all, we are a couple.
We walk in to have lunch. Of course, it's the same sloop as always, but we do eat it because we were late to breakfast. After we finished, we went straight back to class. He takes the seat right next to me and I smile. He writes something on a piece of paper and hands it to me. I look at it and smile. It read:
I love you Alma, with all my heart. And I know you feel the same way. I hope that you and I can hang out a bit after school.
I wrote on it:
I know you love me, and of course we can, anytime, just you and I.
I hand it back to him and his eyes skim the paper and he smiles. The teacher, Mr. Teren, starts to talk and we both look foward. We wait for his class to be over. Then, after about an hour and a half, we are let out of school. I grab my bookbag and both me and Nick head to my apartment. We walk in.
Well, I don't really remember what happened after that, but umm... I do remember graduating from school two weeks later with Nick...
Nick was near the front of class and I was at the end. Mitchell and I were in our own conversation, best buds and everything.
"But I do think it's the Capitol's fault for us being down here," I said, looking at him.
"It is, but they didn't want to be blown up and we did make a deal," he said but then we were told to shut up by our teacher. We walked onto stage in our graduation gowns and caps, an old tradition since before our parents were even born.
Nick got his award and I smiled at him. He smiled back and then everything went threw pretty fast. I got my award and went to sit down next to Nick in the audience. I knew that Mitchell was giving the speech this year. I listened to his speech, well, partly. I was to busy staring at Nick. After it was over, well, I didn't feel to well honestly...
I went to see the doctor at the hospital. He quickly took me in. And that is when I got the biggest surprise of my life.
I, Alma Snow, was pregnent.
Chapter 4 - The Child
Well, yesterday, I had given birth to a girl. I hadn't named her, but today I would. Nick accompanied me to see her, still thinking that it was him or some other dude that was jealous and that I was cheating on him that was the father. I silenced him repeatedly.
I walked into the hospital and looked at my little girl. She was asleep and I smiled. "What will you name her?" asked the doctor.
"Silver, her name will be Silver Snow," I said with a smile.
"Of course, and do you know who the father is?" he asked.
"No," I said with a sigh. "No, I-I don't."
The doctor sighed. "As soon as you find out, tell me, and also, I would suggest getting married, just in case."
I nodded. I looked at little Silver and smiled. I walked away with Nick, casting glances at little Silver. Soon, we were to far away to where I could see her. Nick looked at me.
"Are you sure you don't know who the father is?" he asked.
"Positive," he said.
"How? Think hard about all the guys you have spent time with. I being one of them."
I thought about it and gasped. "Your the only guy I've been with, Nick, and then that means that your the father of Silver, bu-but I can't think of how it happened, how it could of..."
"I think I might, remember that day in your apartment?" he asked
"No, I can't remember anything of that day except a boring class that day.
"Well, I think it was them. Alma, I was saving this for later, but please, will you marry me?" he asked, getting down on his knee and pulling out a ring.
"Okay, fine, but we must tell the doctor and everything and-"
"We will take care of it later," he murmured.
I nodded and together, we headed to my apartment. But then I thought of something. "I've never got to see the ruins of District 13, can we?" I asked.
He hesitated then nodded. "Of course, we will take little Silver with us," he said.
"Silver? No, I think she should stay here," I said.
"If the doctor'll let you, then we will take her, I want her to be with us," he said with a murmur. I sigh but nod.
"After a good night sleep," I said. I got ready for bed and laid down on my bed. Well, of course, Nick joined me. The lights went out and we went to sleep.
Chapter 5 - Terrible, Just Terrible
I wake up and I notice Nick is already gone. I get up off the bed and get dressed. I walked out and Nick comes up to me. "Come with me," he said with a smile. He grabs my hand before I could say anything and drags me to the mess hall.
When I walk in, I am surprised with how it looks. It looks amazing in there and I am greeted by many people. Well, I guess this was our wedding, defiently something.
After the little wedding, we walked over to the hospital wing. I explained to the doctor about Nick being the father and how we wanted to take Silver to see the ruins of District 13. He hesitated but nodded. I smiled and lifted little Silver from her bed and took her with us. I put a locket around her neck, it had her name, Silver Snow, ingraved into it...
We walk out into the ruins of District 13. It was... something. It looked nothing like our underground, this was destroyed, terrible. Little Silver cried and I started to murmur my mother's song she would sing to me and Silver instantly fell silent. I smiled and Nick and I walked around.
Suddenly, something hit me in the back of the head and I fell to the ground. I turned around and looked at the stranger. I instantly stand up and grab Silver who started to cry again. I slowly back away and the man pulls a knife. I then wonder where Nick is...
Then I see Nick walk up behind the man but the man turned and stabbed Nick in the stomach. "NO!" I shouted and Silver started crying again. The man turned and grabbed her and ran. "SILVER!" I screamed and started to run after him.
I then finally fall to the ground and start crying. Nick was dead and they had taken our child, our little child, I just wished he would come back and kill me. I slowly start heading back to District 13, crying. President Torrent, Mitchell's father, was the one that found me first. "What's wrong?" he asked.
I then went over the story and he put a comforting arm around me. "It's alright Alma, and, there is something else that you should know."
"What?" I asked, trying to keep from crying more.
"Your mother and I came to an agreement when you were born that you would be the next President of District 13, and there is much I must tell you."
"Like that when you find news of someone volunteering in District 12, you must start an uprising."
"Okay, fine, against those evil Capitol people, those that forced us down here and killed Nick and took Silver and caused my mother to get ill when I was 9, whatever, they'll die for what they have done," I said crossly.
He sighed and walked away and I walked away to my apartment and fell asleep, planning for the future.
Chapter 6 - The Volunteer
I, President Alma Coin of District 13, watched the reapings. I watched it, alright, with very intense eyes. They were watching the quick video before the reapings of District 12. I smiled as the reapings finally started.
"Ladies first," said the escort, Effie Trinket I believe. She walked over to the bowl and looked around. She picked one up and walked back over to the microphone. She opened it and read the name.
"Primrose Everdeen!" There was dead silence. I looked at the little girl, she was 12, I could tell. Then there was a scream and a girl ran foward. "I volunteer!" she shouted. "I volunteer as tribute."
"No!" shouted the little girl, Primrose Everdeen. A boy came behind her and picked her up and took away the crying girl.
The older girl mounted the stage. "What's your name sweetie?" asked Effie.
"Katniss Everdeen," the girl murmured.
"Well I bet you that was your sister. Now, to find out our male tribute!" She walked over to the other one and picked a name. "Peeta Mellark!" she called. The boy came foward and when no one volunteered, the screen went black.
"That's it, that's our spark, it's decided, Katniss Everdeen has given us our signal, it is time to start an uprising." I said with a smile.
I got onto the phone with a guy named Plutarch Heavensbee. He agreed to join our uprising, perfect. He would get us more people. I hung up and looked at my men. "Our uprising, has begun," I said, my voice echoing around our little room.
Chapter 7 - The Games
Well, it all depended on if she won or not, but I don't really care. As long as we overthrow the government then I'm fine.
Well, sitting there, watching the games, it made Mitchell and I very mad, I 12 year-old girl from District 11 was killed by that idiot Marvel of District 1. Gladly, Katniss killed him.
It was the last day, we all knew it was. Well, the Gamemakers decided to bring mutts upon them, and it just made me and Mitchell angrier.
The District 2 boy died, leaving Katniss and Peeta, but no trumpets sounded to tell them that they won...
"Ladies and gentlemen! We have overlooked our rule that two tributes can win, so now, only one tribute shall be crowned victor. Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor!"
I growled a bit but then Katniss pulled out those nightlock berries. She gave some to Peeta and kept some for herself. They put them in their mouths and the voice returned.
"Stop! Stop! Ladies and gentlemen, the victors of the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss and Peeta of District 12!"
They spit out the berries and were lifted into a hovercraft. I turned the tv off and turned towards my men.
"That's that then, the Capitol has been made a full of by our volunteer tribute. Call Plutarch Mitchell and tell him to come here as soon as possible."
Mitchell got up and ran away, out of the room, to go call Plutarch. Then I remembered our newest rebel, Dalton. "Jackson, go check on Dalton, to make sure that he is enjoying District 13." I left to room without letting anyone else say anything. I went straight to my apartment. I looked at the one, the one, photo of Silver I had and sighed. She was a beautiful girl, and I wish I could hold her right now in my arms, to make her safe...
I still want revenge on the Capitol, and boy, my target is President Snow. But then my phone started ringing and I answered it.
"Hello?" I asked.
"President Coin," said the haunting voice of President Snow.
"What do you want?" I said, keeping my voice calm.
"Your last president, President Torrent, was suppose to become president of the Capitol after me. It only seems fair that you become President after me, no?"
"I already knew that, now, why did you call me?"
"Think back to your maiden name, Alma Snow. Now think of my last name, Cornelius Snow. Coincidence? I would think not."
"What are you getting at?"
"I can't believe you didn't know sooner. Alma, I am your father."
I froze. It was dead silence. Then I finally said, "But you took my daughter, no one is that cruel, well, no one but you."
"Sure, any way, Silver is fine, in fact, she is perfect."
"Give me her back, I want my daughter back! She was never yours! Never!"
"She is fine here in the Capitol, I'd expect she'd want to stay."
"I want her back! Do you not know the torture I've gone through?"
"Oh, like your mother's illness? There is another secret behind that also," he said with a laugh.
"What did you do to her?!"
I tried not to cry. "Give me Silver back now, or else I will bomb the Capitol."
"But that wouldn't get her back, that might just kill her, no?"
"Give me her back! I will bomb the Capitol, and that much, I do know!"
"You won't be getting her back!" he sneered. "Now, if you excuse me, I must get ready to crown to Victors, goodbye Alma, and remember, would you really bomb family?"
I hung up as fast as I could and started to cry. Well, I guess I fell asleep sometime between then and now...
Chapter 8 - The Quell
My men and I were crowded around the screen to see the Quell. I was incontact with the District 8 mayor, Paylor. They were apart of the uprising along with 11 and 4, it made me smile. This was perfect. Then I see Snow walk on stage.
"Ladies and Gentlemen! On the first Quarter Quell, you had to vote your tributes in.
"Oh the second Quarter Quell, for one Capitol person that died, two rebels died. So we sent in twice as many tributes. We are here to see this years Quarter Quell twist."
A little boy, no older then 8, walked over in a black suit, holding a box. Snow picked up the one labeled:75th Quarter Quell.
"For the third Quarter Quell," he said, opening the envelope, "to prove that not even the strongest of you could defeat us, we are sending in past victors. And may the odds be ever in your favor!"
I growled and turned the tv off. "She'll be going back in, Katniss. Our plan is destroyed!" I screamed.
Mitchell walked over to me. "She may surivive," he said calmly.
"She'll be protecting Peeta, Mitchell! She will do anything to make sure he wins! There is no way she can unless-" I said, freeezing.
"Unless what?" asked Jackson, her eyes piercing into mine.
"Unless we make a call to Haymitch tomorrow and get him to get some tributes to destroy the arena and get Katniss out of there."
"How do you expect we do that? That forcefield is inpeneritable!"
"District 3'll figure that out, I shall be calling him," I said crossly and walked out of the room without another word. They just stared after me, no one tried to stop me, no one...
When I got to my room, my phone started to ring but I ignore it, it might be Snow to taunt me more about his Quell...
