Hi! So a lot of people were wondering how you edit lunaii dolls, so this blog is created specifically for teaching those who want to learn!

First Edit Lesson: Braids

Braids can be short, long, and even multiple braids can be created easy! Just follow these steps, and you will have great looking braids anytime! Note that you can use any hairstyle basically for the part that stays on the doll, some look better than others. I just used a simple hairstyle below, but some can be more elaborate, such as the curly hairstyle. This will take more patience at erasing the parts you don't want, so it's really all up to you.

Step 1:

FirstStep

Step 1

Make a lunaii doll and copy and paste it into paint. If you have an older computer, you paint will look a little bit different than mine. Nevertheless, editing is just as easy on both paints! You will notcie the black background- go to step 2 for what to do about that. If you copy and paste it and there is no black background (it's white), then go to step 3.

Step 2:

2Step

Step 2

Using the paint bucket tool and with the color white, fill in all of the black background spots. The pink circles show which tools to use and the results.

Step 3:

3Step

Step 3

Using the SAME doll, change the hairstyle to the one with the two braids and repeat steps 1 and 2. It is important you do not change the hair color in any way, or else it will look weird (unless you are going for a two colored-hair look).

Step 4:

4Step

Step 4

ZOOM IN!!!!!! A lot. Or else you won't be able to see. In the picture, I have zoomed back out, so zoom in more than that. Using the eraser tool, erase everything but the braid. For the itsy bitsy pieces you can barely see, use the pencil tool in white to quickly erase them. The eraser is kinda big on the new version, so you will have to do this often. Be careful to erase ONLY the parts you don't want.

Step 5:

5Step

Step 5

erase the parts that are not needed on the doll using the method in step 4. Note that the top part is different for different hairstyles, so make sure you know what parts you want to keep BEFORE you erase.

Step 6:

6Step

Step 6

Click select and make sure the "Transparent Selection" option is CHECKED. If it is not, you will severly mess up the edit!!!!!! If you have an older paint program, google "How to change the selection to opaque in Microsoft Paint."

Step 7:

7Step
Select the braid.

Step 8:

8Step
Postition the brain on the head as shown. You can move it in other areas, if you want a braid that isn't right on the nape of the neck. The cirlcled section (in pink) is the section that needs some cleaning up or else it will look messy and sloppy. If it looks ok (sometimes it does) then your done. If it looks sloppy, read step 9.

Step 9:

9Step
Using the eyedropper, copy the color that outlines the face. Then, overlap the parts that looked bad and wah-lah!!!! Braid!!!!

Here is the finished product. Make sure to erase the leftover braid at the bottom of the doll. Add and background and your ready to go!!!!!!!!!

Second Edit Lesson: Curly Hair with a Ponytail

Step 1:

Step 3
Use step one in the first edit lesson, but instead use a doll with these hairstyles. ----------------->

Step 2:

Same thing- use step 2 in the first edit lesson.

Step 3:

Step 4
Erase the hair parts as so, careful as to not erase parts that you need!

Step 4:

Step 5

Using the select tool (and as the same as step 6 in the first edit lesson, make sure the transparent selection thing is checked!!!) select the doll, not the pony tail.

Step 5:

Step6
Position the doll over the ponytail, as shown. You can make it higher or lower, it just is a matter of where you position the doll over the ponytail.

Here is the finished doll. Just add a background and enjoy!

Edit Tutorial 3: Pretty Curly Ponytail

1Step

Step 1:

Use step one in the first edit lesson, but instead use a doll with these hairstyles. ----------------->

Step 2:

Same thing- use step 2 in the first edit lesson.

Step 3:

2step
Erase the parts as shown. The black marks show what parts you need to make sure you don't miss when erasing!

Step 4:

3rdStep
Select the second doll peice. MAKE SURE THE "TRANSPARENT SELECTION" THING IS MARKED, JUST AS I SAID IN THE FIRST TWO TUTORIALS!!!

Step 5:

4step
Move the peice onto the first peice as shown. Make sure the peices line up perfectly- the exact parts of the mouth go on top of the other mouth, same thing with the nose and eyes!!
