The Unexpected

There, in each district, everyone had gathered in the square, all eyes on the giant TV above the justice building. Each one of them wracked with fear, at what horror may befall their children. The aging face of their president appeared on the screen, with his cruel eyes of a mad man seemed like he was looking out at them all.

"There will not be a Games this year. Everyone, go home, dine and be merry. Remember, the Capitol is always watching." The screen went blank.

Every stood there, bewildered. They did not know what to do. Dare they cheer? Where the games over for good?

Instead, the people of the districts returned home with a happy heart, for their children would never be in danger again.

But, they were all deceived. For, there was a Hunger Games coming. When Reaping Day came around, everyone was peacefully going about their lives. Blissfully unaware, of the people of the capital gathering outside the president's house. There stood a stage, with twenty four glass orbs, set up as if it were a clock, two for each district. There would be a reaping indeed, but the tributes wouldn't know, that death hangs above their head.

Rules[]

  1. This is my first Hunger Game, so sorry if it sucks. Not a rule, but I wanted to get that off my chest.
  2. Yes, I'm entering one of my own tributes, because I'm going to turn this into a fanfiction. If you don't want your tribute to be in my fanfiction, then please say so.
  3. That being said, no that doesn't mean that my tribute will win. I will make sure they don't win this game.
  4. Only two tributes each please, but if hardly anyone enters, then you can have more.
  5. I'll be the stylist, but if you want to be one just let me know, and I'll happily accept your designs.
  6. When submitting tributes, it's your choice on how to show their appearance. If you don't add a Lunaii, I'll make one. :D
  7. -NEW RULE- I decided not to do the private training, and interviews. Sorry if you were looking forward to those. It just makes it more easier for the games to begin right away.
  8. If you want to join please use this form; -please post, it's easier for me, if all entered tributes forms are in the comments -

Reapings[]

District 1[]

All was quiet in the captial, as the president stepped up, to announce the first reaping. This, he knew, would make this one of the most exciting games yet, for it would be his last as president. He reached into the glass orb, and plucked a slip of paper from it. "Rosalind Shimmer," he announced, to the crowd. Next, he plucked a name slip from the next orb. "Cabana Scott."

The large screen behind them turned on, showing three peacekeepers walking down a street in District 1.

Rosalind Shimmer[]

Walking along peacefully, with a shopping bag in each hand, Rosalind couldn't be happier. She had noticed that one of her friends had gained weight, this pleased her to no end, because it made her feel even more good about herself. It didn't phase her at all, when she noticed some peacekeepers, she never did anything that would get any attention from them. Or so she thought.

Two of the peacekeepers grabbed her, one holding each arm.

"Unhand me, this instant! My father will hear of this," Rosalind yelled, but her command went unnoticed.

"Cool it, Girly, you've been reaped," the third peacekeeper informed her.

"Reaped?" Rosalind muttered, as fear flooded over her. It could be possible that the clothes she just purchased could never be worn. No, she would not allow that to happen. She would just have to win the Hunger Games to make sure.

Cabana Scott[]

On another boring afternoon, Cabana was busy picking on little kids. It wasn't that he was a bully, he just liked showing the little kids how much tougher than them he was. It was actually quite routine now, he'd hit them, they would cry. So dull, that it was hardly worth the effort. He noticed some peacekeepers, and already formulated his lie, to make them go away. He noticed that one of them was already restraining some blonde girl, that he had seen around sometimes.

"Oi," one of the peacekeepers shouted.

"Alright, I'm moving along," Cabana said, rolling his eyes.

The third one pinned him to the wall, and said, "Your time has come, Scott, you've been reaped."

"About time," Cabana said, coolly. "I finally got me a bigger playground."

Cabana knew that one of the houses in Victor's Village had his name written all over it, because nothing could beat him.

District 2[]

It was a success, all of the Capitol were thrilled with the surprise reapings. The president knew that it was a complete success. Instead of plucking the name straight of of the girl's district 2 orb, he swirled the paper around with his hand, just building the anticipation. Just as the anticipation hit it's peak, he plucked the name straight out of the orb. "McKenna Ecelinti," the president announced. Next, he moved onto the other orb. He plucked a name from the orb. "Emmett Wood."

The gaze of everyone gathered drifted to the television.

McKenna Ecelinti[]

There was nothing to do on that day, McKenna walked boredly through the garden. There was nothing to do at all. She was bored with all the books in the house, and there was nothing good on TV. McKenna decided to go visit her friends, maybe they could either find something to do, or all be bored together. There was a group of three peacekeepers ahead, so she turned around to go the other way.

"Oi, girl, are you McKenna Ecelinti?" one of the peacekeepers shouted.

McKenna turned around on the spot. "Yes, that's me," McKenna said, coolly.

"Then, you've been Reaped," the peacekeeper said.

A smiled spread across McKenna's face. "So, I'm going into the Games? Awesome!"

It looks like her life of boredom ended that day.

Emmett Wood[]

It was just another day for Emmett Wood, there were plenty of pretty girls around, and it was his job to flirt with the most prettiest girl of them all. Scanning through the crowd, he found his target; the pretty blonde modelling a necklace for one of her friends. Emmett walked over to the girl, and stood beside the girl, partly shielding her from her friend.

"I bet you have a pretty name," Emmett said, in a flirty way.

"Savannah," said the pretty blonde girl.

"Hey, how about you and I go out tonight?" Emmett suggested.

Before Savannah could give her response, the hand of a peacekeeper clamped down on his shoulder.

"Oi, Emmett Wood, you've been reaped," the peacekeeper said.

Emmett turned around, and saw three peacekeepers stood with a girl that he thought was kinda pretty. "Alright," Emmett said, shrugging. He turned to Savannah and winked.

"I'll meet you right here, after you come home a winner," Savannah promised.

"I'll see you then," Emmett said, winking.

Yet another reason to win, to come back for his date.

Chariot Parade[]

"The tributes for the 14th Annaul Hunger Games have been chosen," the commentator Phillip announced. "Here they come, on their charriots. And, doesn't District 1 look stunning?"

"Indeed so, Phillip, I wonder if that costume itches?" replied Charmer.

Phillip laughed. "Oh, and here comes District 2... wait... is that District 10 in the white? They look fabulous!"

"Wow! I want a dress just like that! I would look beautiful at the next party, don't you think so?" Charmer said, in her sugar sweet voice.

"Of course! But, you certainly wouldn't want to wear the District 7 or 12 costumes, that's for sure," Phillip said.

"Are you blind? District 12 look amazing... wow... the flames. I hope that doesn't hurt them," Charmer said, enthusiastically.

"Wait... that's District 12? They look so enchanting. I'm so dazzled by such wonderful costumes," Phillip admitted.

All of the charriots came to a stop, so the president could give his speech. With the cheers of the crowd, each tribute felt stunning, like they could take on the world.

The cornucopia is in the center broken down little town, half of which is flooded, by a dam that burst a long time ago. Solid rock surrounds the village, going high up into a mountain, with at least half a dozen caves, some hidden by vines, some completely obvious. Some trees line the pathway into the mountain. A stream flows down the southern part of the mountain, not far from a ivy covered entrence to a cave.
