Stealing?Edit

Hiya!

So recently Atelda1001 asked me if I could help her with coding. I said yes, and she said she wanted help with something on her profile, well. After a while she said she did it and that she didn't need my help, so I checked it out and really liked her work, so I asked if I could use it. She said yes, but I forgot to actually use it. A few days later I start editing a sandbox with it for my own, and Atelda leaves a message, saying, she wants credit. I tell her I will not put her name on my profile but I will give her credit, and she says 'I want credit for my work'. 

But no, it is not her work.

I was talking to Rainbow Shifter, and she told me her work looked like another users template which they had created. A user called Jäzzi. Here is their template and here is Atelda's. Look familiar?

I messaged her twice, saying that we should talk it out without any problems or arguments, but she chose to ignore these messages, I know for sure she's seen them. 

And, the code was used before she made it by Haybernathy. In fact, it's the exact same code with the exact same page code. Funny much?

Leapkit's GamesEdit

Okay so, Leapkitrecently came back to the wiki, and he carried on with his games which he hadn't touched in weeks. I asked Leapkit if he could take my tributes (Eclair Gloss and Truffle Gloss) out of his games. He refused to, and now he's putting up a stink. Dani and Zack and I were trying to get him to remove them, but he still refused. Can you please do something? (Sorry for wasting your time.)

Deleting GamesEdit

I noticed some of the admins have deleted some of the older fan-made Hunger Games, I'd just like to ask how you and the other admins decide which ones to delete. I'm basically just looking to know if I'll be notified or anything if you plan on deleting my finished Hunger Games in the future, especially considering I'll be leaving again once my current games are over.

Admin Request/QuestionEdit

Hi Tap, i have just been demodded for unknown reasons because someone said i've been inactive although i have only been offline for 2 or 3 days due to high school, friends etc. so i don't think its fair that i have my mod taken away because i have been on here way longer than the person who demodded me and it confuses me to see that they are already an admin? I don't mean to sound pushy but i have been very responsible, handled any vandilization on any pages so if that person is an admin, i believe i have a right to be one to because i try to be as active as i can everyday so please think this through. I have told you the reasons for my demodding you on your talk page (and chat problems should really be directed to Annie) and I have not decided to demod you myself as Annie and other chat mods agreed with it. Plus how long you have been here doesn't really count for anything if you do not have the edits to match up with it. I was chosen to be an admin because I have now been here nearly a year and have over 1,000 mainspace edits (something which you defiantly don't have). Many users supported me and it was the main drive behind me becoming an admin as they all said we needed one. Look at ever other Admin's edits... They are all above 2,000 (and mainly above 1,000 mainspace) whilst yours barely scrapes 200 and your mainspace is even lower. THE ADMIN 07:50, March 12, 2013 (UTC)

Okay I agree on two things here. I don't agree with Thomas being admin, since Jade is a amazing admin and helps the articles. It's just weird on how two days ago Thomas came on chat with Annie, the question how can he be inactive if he is on chat with the same admin "who" supposedly agreed with you to be demodded. to me that is just plain absurd to me. I agree you're not ready for admin—but being demodded I just think is absurd. As really Jade it's not you're place to demod. If Annie wanted to demod him she would've herself. But anyways, to my point.

A mod should be on everyday, and if they are away for a length of time they should leave an admin a message. Explaining why, and so the admin is warned and can make necissary changes. Now, Thomas comes on occasionally but thats once a week, and sometimes not that. And that is hardly anything a mod should be doing, I 100% agree with Jade and Annie's decisions, and I think we should respect them. They are the admins. GO JADE.

I'm not changing anyone words.. He is saying a mod has to be on 100% everday. That's not true, if that's the case then yes, he is basically saying a mod needs to be addicted. Obviously Atelda you cannot follow simple commands like: "No more discussion." I may not be on chat at night but some mods are such as Dani and Vinny and users like Wes, Emma and Beth. Would like to step down Edit

I would like to submit my resignation as an admin. Over time I have lost interest in the wiki and this has been seen in my absence for 2 months. During that time I asked myself more than once if I missed the wiki and the answer was no - I have been more active on the other 3 that I administer and can continue to make a commitment to them. I had very high hopes when I applied to and was granted adminship here and felt that I could make a tangible difference. While I have seen some changes that I was able to effect, the cultural shift that would have to come from the users hasn't come about or if it recently has, I haven't seen it. No one has reached out to me in my absence and there are 2 other active admins present, so my lack of presence has been adjusted to. I would like to thank you for your faith in promoting me to admin in the first place and for giving me the opportunity to be of service and the other users that I had the pleasure to be acquainted with during my time here. Kaitlyn, here's a thought: maybe Jade deleted your and Atelda's messages because she didn't want anymore people to get involved or she just wanted it to be involved with the admins/mods. The rubble Arena Edit

Dear TAP,

I am just gonna be asking about an edit where I was confused. It's on the arena page under the "other arenas" section. Under "Rubble" it says:

"Rubble - These Games were shown in The Hunger Games film, it was most likely the 73rd Hunger Games. It was mainly a ruined city, fallen to pieces. The victor was a boy from District 2 who won by smashing in the skull of another male tribute with a brick."

However, I re-watched the movie a couple of times and I did not see any mention of the District 2 male winning the games. I tried to look through the history of the page to see who had added it but after long search, I couldn't seem to find it. If this game was only mentioned in the movie, then I am pretty sure that it was not made clear that it was the district 2 male who won (or else, I must have mis-heard very terribly :P). But I wanted to make sure by asking.

Hey there! Have you heard of The Bone Season or WOOL? The first is a great new YA dystopian book series with some aspects along the same veins as The Hunger Games (but with a few key differences), and the second is a cool sci-fi book you might find interesting. You can get more information about the Bone Season here and about WOOL here. The publishers are offering us some books to give to avid readers active on book wikis that would be interested and you came to mind!

It would be awesome to get a read on what you thought of the series and if we could get a great community going on wikis based on these books. The Bone Season is already getting optioned for a film even though it hasn't been published yet, so you would be getting your hands on one of the first copies, and WOOL is supposed to be good! VandalismEdit

There have been edits to Lily and Julia's page done by an anon. They have editted the pages twice to where we cannot reverse what they wrote or honestly fix it. The anon can be found at User talk:62.121.66.152. I was wondering if there was anything you can do? Fun Wikia ProjectEdit

I wanted to let you know about an interesting initiative Wikia is rolling out. We're reaching out to a few trusted admins first about it because we'd really like to involve you guys specifically. Would you be open to working with us and other Wikia Community members in coming up with ideas for our programs? Thanks i just found out, wow i am shocked and stunned at the same time.

Chat pings rule Edit

This came up during chat today, and I wanted to know your opinion on it before I did anything about it. Most of the users have chat hacks initialized and with that pings set up. But a problem that people will repeatedly ping others just to annoy them has come up. I was wondering if it were alright if we set up a rule where if the person getting pinged asks that the person(s) pinging them stop and they don't they'll get kicked. Thank you! Linking with Hashtags Edit

Hello TAP!

I have a question when it comes to linking with hastags. Let's say that a page has the word "Panem" linked. Later below it has the word "Districts". Here, I could make Districts link to "Panem#Districts" but I already have Panem linked once in the article. Some would say it's uneeeded, while other would say that it's best to link to that specific paragraph, incase the reader may not have known that the "Districts" were on the "Panem" page. So yeah, if there is posibilty for a hashtag link to a page there has already been linked what should I do?

Just a question Edit

Hi, I wrote a page titled Hunger Games: The Second Quarter Quell which was a short film done by a casting agency to promote actors for roles in the Hunger Games. I wrote the article after I saw Hunger Games: Katniss & Rue had been created and was done by the same casting agency. My page was deleted almost instantly where the admin stated the page was good, just not needed and also said that those pages weren't notable. I was confused because Hunger Games: Katniss & Rue was still up and running and was in the same film series as Hunger Games: The Second Quarter Quell. I asked that admin for further answers but she said herself that she didn't know exactly why they didn't do pages like mine. If you could give me some further answers, that would be great. Powder wiggle is not a reference to cannabis or any other drugs. I searched it and the only things which is even slightly related to drugs is a legalised sport drug brand. I know I'm not supposed to bring chat related issues to you but I remember you telling Mia (66mc) that we couldn't kick unless they broke rules.

So today we had about 4 trolls, all talking weirdly and being extremely irritating (I know we can kick for that but what they were doing we couldn't) so eventually we banned one for linking to an inappropriate website, and kicked the others for being inappropriate.

So Anna and I were wondering. I know this has been turned down before but having a certain amount of edits before being allowed on chat? We think it would decrease the amount of trolls. We were also thinking about 5. And I myself was thinking if they didnt get the 5 edits required to come on chat, in a certain amount of time they would be kicked until they made said amount of edits, because they used to do that over at HGRP and I think it would be a good idea here considering we get a lot of trolls.

In my opinion, I feel like we shouldn't have an edit rule but a rule where it allows us mods to kick obvious trolls freely.

I agree with Lily, we talked about this before and I really think it takes away from the experience. People will jut make stupid edits, and we cant stop people coming on chat for having 5 bad edits, it just has to be 5 edits. Commenting on 1 game, then editing it 4 more time is not hard. Trolls may just do things like that to get in, and it willr educe the overall quality of edits.

They wouldn't be allowed to make spam edits. Like editing and removing or commenting and editing. As long as it's not a spam edit and it was a useful comment, a message, a file or a profile edit it would be allowed.

I would agree on this. I just think it makes the wiki seem really unproffessional to newer users when they log on and find us invaded by a bunch of users who purposely annoy but does not break the rules any other way.

I do know that people could technically just edit their profile five times in a row but I think that this rule could just decrease the amount of trolls a little bit. We seem to have gotten more lately. They're on chat and will annoy, but just keep themself barely within the rules so that we can't kick.

However if we do accept this rule, we should at least have some guidelines for it. For example, we shouldn't kick them immediatly, we should rather tell the users with 0 edits that we got a 5 edits rule. Then if they don't we kick.

Lily's suggestion could be good too, but I do fear that mods may assume about users too quickly. But anyway this is just a suggestion. It not that we HAVE To user any of these rules it's just more like trying to get a way to reduse trolls.

Also, maybe a new idea could be to instead make a "one day" rule? That you have to have an account that is one day old? This would make it difficult for people who make multiple account to just spam chat. This is just a suggestion, btw xD

I don't know if I should go to you for this, as it's a chat related issue (kinda), but I asked a few users, and they said to go to you.

So a user, HairyHaribo, has been saying offensive things to me in chat twice now. The first time, Anna was there to see what they said, like how my parents can't afford to pay for food and a house and similar things. The second time, which happened today, they said how my Mum was dead, and when I corrected them, they said how she was with them last night, indicating having...yeah. They said some other things I really don't want to list, but this time, Anna and CatoET were both in chat to see it. And today, I did have enough, and was kicked a few times myself, but only in retaliation.
